SCHROM’s Jennifer Davick Wins a “Pink Lady”

Congrats are in order to our very own Jennifer Davick, tabletop director/photographer at NYC’s SCHROM, who won the Winterbotham Derby Food Film Shorts prize at the International Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year awards for her short film Black Sesame

The Pink Lady® Food Awards is an international competition that included a total of more than 9,000 entries from 77 countries. The winners were announced and exhibited at the Mall Galleries, a modern art space in the Mayfair neighborhood of London.

The global judging panel was chaired by internationally-renowned food photographer David Loftus and included Claire Hyman, British Photography – The Hyman Collection; culinary superstar Alice Waters; Lucy Pike, Head of Pictures at WeTransfer, His Excellency Ali Bin Thalith, Secretary General at HIPA, and Andreas von Estorff, CEO at Production Paradise among others.

“Black Sesame” documents the creation of one of the unbelievably evocative and poetic desserts by famed pastry chef Maya Erickson. Her Black Sesame Ice Cream with Black Sesame Pudding is rooted in a passed-down poppy seed pudding recipe yet presented with a stylized, sexy and provocative manner that’s as arresting and mood-evoking visually as it is to the palate.
