Paul Golden & Gordon Clark Drive the Vote for HRC

screen-shot-2016-10-13-at-2-23-55-pm

We’ve been doing what we can to help get HRC elected: found this fantastic group DevProgress who are building apps, etc to help the cause. We’re passionate about Drive The Vote, an app to match, on election day, people who need rides to the polls with people who can offer rides. For free. We wanted a “splainer” video and blessedly, Paul Golden and Gordon Clark – you’ll find them during the day at ffake – stepped up Big Time. They helped with the script and turned this puppy around in two weeks! Yay Paul and Gordon. Full credits:

Direction/Design: Gordon Clark
Production/Editor/Writer: Paul Golden
Animation: Chris Purdin, Mike Overbeck, Tom Rubalcava

For music and audio post, a crew out of BANG Music + Audio Post graciously stepped up and killed on their side. Thank you SO MUCH Brad Stratton, Timo Elliston and Nick Cipriano.

We’ve got buy-in from GOTV peeps in Utah and are hoping to deploy in PA and FL. If you can be in any of the above places on e-day – or have friends there – check it out. (You might find us in PA on Nov. 8 driving peeps to polls, can’t think of a better way to spend the day!)

‘Horrifying’ Old Spice Remix From Nick DenBoer & 6 Point Media

wk_os_remix_final_h264-0-00-14-21

Working with 6 Point Media animator Nick DenBoer III, AKA “smearballz”, to create the most bizarre remix of Old Spice spots they could muster, Wieden + Kennedy/Portland used footage from some of its recent Old Spice ads to make a new spot that’s even weirder. They call it “Horrifying Mutant Abomination (Remix)”

Did we mention that it’s quite weird?

6 Point Media gets seriously creepy for Eli Roth + Dark Souls III

Our imaginative friends at animation house 6 Point Harness collaborated with Eli Roth and the makers of Dark Souls, FromSoftware, to produce a short animated film for the upcoming game Dark Souls III.

The director, Eli Roth, is best known for his work on Hostel and The Green Inferno. Aside from his work as a director, Roth also starred in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II movie, Inglourious Basterds. 6PH is known most recently for its great work on the Cosmos series reboot from Fox, featuring astronomer/physicist Neil Degrasse Tyson and executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, and for its successful on-line animated features Dick Figures:The Movie and Tom Hanks’ Electric City.

The trailer in all it’s creepy goodness:

An interesting look behind the scenes:

Juan Delcan, Director

You know what’s cool? … a guy who can do this

and also this

and this

and this!

A native of Quebec, Juan moved to the US in 1995.

The first project he ever did was the Video Game “The Abbey Of Crime” that enjoys cult status to this day.

Juan’s work as an artist came to the attention of Bono who commissioned him to animate backdrops for U2’s Vertigo Tour, which can be seen in U2 3D, the bands’ 3D theatrical release.

His documentary, AfriCOBRA, is an engaging historical tribute to the Chicago artists collective who create images to uplift and affirm the African-American community back during the civil right movement from the 1960’s, it aired in TVLand during Black History Month.

Juan’s work has been honored in the Cannes Advertising festival, The London International Advertising and Design Awards, AIGA, The BDA Awards, The Telly Awards and the Museum of Modern Art and continues to be featured at numerous film festivals.

More great work here.
