wk_os_remix_final_h264-0-00-14-21

Working with 6 Point Media animator Nick DenBoer III, AKA “smearballz”, to create the most bizarre remix of Old Spice spots they could muster, Wieden + Kennedy/Portland used footage from some of its recent Old Spice ads to make a new spot that’s even weirder. They call it “Horrifying Mutant Abomination (Remix)”

Did we mention that it’s quite weird?

AdWeek covers here.

6 Point Media gets seriously creepy for Eli Roth + Dark Souls III

Our imaginative friends at animation house 6 Point Harness collaborated with Eli Roth and the makers of Dark Souls, FromSoftware, to produce a short animated film for the upcoming game Dark Souls III.

The director, Eli Roth, is best known for his work on Hostel and The Green Inferno. Aside from his work as a director, Roth also starred in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II movie, Inglourious Basterds. 6PH is known most recently for its great work on the Cosmos series reboot from Fox, featuring astronomer/physicist Neil Degrasse Tyson and executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, and for its successful on-line animated features Dick Figures:The Movie and Tom Hanks’ Electric City.

The trailer in all it’s creepy goodness:

An interesting look behind the scenes:

Juan Delcan, Director

You know what’s cool? … a guy who can do this

and also this

and this

and this!

A native of Quebec, Juan moved to the US in 1995.

The first project he ever did was the Video Game “The Abbey Of Crime” that enjoys cult status to this day.

Juan’s work as an artist came to the attention of Bono who commissioned him to animate backdrops for U2’s Vertigo Tour, which can be seen in U2 3D, the bands’ 3D theatrical release.

His documentary, AfriCOBRA, is an engaging historical tribute to the Chicago artists collective who create images to uplift and affirm the African-American community back during the civil right movement from the 1960’s, it aired in TVLand during Black History Month.

Juan’s work has been honored in the Cannes Advertising festival, The London International Advertising and Design Awards, AIGA, The BDA Awards, The Telly Awards and the Museum of Modern Art and continues to be featured at numerous film festivals.

More great work here.

Andrew Rossi is a super talented doc filmmaker. First came on our radar with the amazing “Page One” featuring (we miss him every day) David Carr and Brian Stelter. “Page One” was nominated for two News & Documentary Emmys and a 2011 Critics’ Choice Award for Best Documentary

Next up, “Ivory Tower.” The film was nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy for outstanding business and economic reportings, and is simply essential viewing for anyone interested in the crisis in higher education here in the U.S.

And now…Andrew’s kicking off Tribeca’s 15th year with “The First Monday in May” exploring the intersection of fine art, high fashion, and celebrity at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
