MICHELE CLARK, Chief Executive Officer
Michele has worked in the advertising and entertainment industries for over 30 years. She has held both staff and consultant positions at numerous leading advertising agencies including Chiat/Day/TBWA, Mojo, Grey Advertising, McCabe & Co, BBDO, and Foote, Cone & Belding. She has lived in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London and Singapore, and has worked on global, national, and regional brands. Some of the many brands she has worked with include Heineken, Levi Strauss, Pacific Bell, Holland America, Nike, Grey Goose, American Express, Pepsi, AT&T, and many brands under the Unilever and Proctor & Gamble umbrellas.
Michele has also worked in entertainment and production. Previously she wrote and produced print, television and internet commercials, television promotion, television pilots, image campaigns, viral campaigns, websites, interstitials and various other marketing and promotional materials. She branded and launched television channels for Warner International Channels in Latin America and Sony Entertainment Television out of Singapore and broadcast into Southeast Asia. She has also worked with E! Entertainment Television, NBC, CBS, Buena Vista Television, Disney, and Fox and worked on the launch of The WB.
Michele previously served on the Board of Directors for the Maysles Institute, a non-profit organization founded by award-winning documentary director Albert Maysles (Gimme Shelter, Grey Gardens) and the African Rainforest Conservancy, which she co-founded in 1989 and has been responsible for community development and the planting of over 10 million trees in the Eastern Arc rainforests of Tanzania, East Africa.
Michele and Taylor Plimpton co-edited an anthology titled The Dreaded Feast: Writers on Enduring the Holidays. The anthology, which contains the works of many respected authors including Hunter S. Thompson, PJ O’Rourke, Jay McInerney, Jonathan Ames, John Waters, Billy Collins, Calvin Trillin, David Sedaris and many others, was published by Harry Abrams and released in Fall 2009. The Dreaded Feast was selected as one of the seasons’ Top 10 Books by independent booksellers across the United States, and was featured in USA Today, and Vogue.
In 2014, Michele founded Project 0, a global campaign to restore the health of the ocean. Project 0 launched to the public in December 2015 with a concert in London that featured music from Ronnie Wood, Bernard Fowler, Mick Taylor, Doug Wimbish, The Strypes, Will Heard and Hidden Charms, a short talk by Cara Delevingne and members of the ocean conservation community. The event was attended by London’s most influential and fashionable crowd and garnered enormous press and praise. Project 0 will continue to build and grow with the aim of putting 30% of the ocean under protection by 2030 (currently only 2.8% is under any form of protection).
