Our fave client at NYC-based motion + stills content shop CASEY has signed director Jonas Vahl, a dynamic and visionary filmmaker whose work spans automotive, fashion/beauty, music and narrative film.
Known for his refined visual language and emotive storytelling, Jonas brings a distinctive artistic voice to the CASEY roster. His client portfolio includes collaborations with Hermès, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Biotherm, Ami, Gaggenau and Pantha du Prince.
Born in Berlin, Jonas studied at the University of Arts Berlin and the renowned Filmakademie Baden Württemberg, where he honed his conceptual approach to imagemaking. With a singular sensitivity to aesthetics and emotion, he consistently strives for the unseen, developing a fascination with singular artifacts and technical ideas that translate into deeply personal and compelling work.
Jonas' breakthrough came with his music video for Pantha du Prince’s track Jupiter’s Delight. Shot in the Mongolian steppes, the film explores the notion of infinity through time, space and circular form. Released exclusively on Nowness, the work went on to win numerous international awards and established Jonas as a bold new visual voice.
His film Hermès H08 earned nominations for Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best VFX/Animation at Berlin Commercial as well as Best Art Direction and Best Fashion Film at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival. That same year, his short film 1608 premiered at the Malta Film Festival, further showcasing his range across both commercial and narrative forms.
Jonas' conceptual grounding in the arts and his continual evolution as an artist enable him to engage with ideas on a profound level, crafting imagery that is both formally precise and emotionally resonant. Jonas works internationally across high-end brands and cultural clients.
