Storytailors Charges Around the Globe with Ford on an EV Expedition
What happens when you take an electric car around the world ?
Ford set out to find the answer with Charge Around the Globe, an expedition spanning four continents, 17,500 km and more than 200 days on the road. Behind the wheel of an electric Ford Explorer, influencer Lexie Alford put the car through real-world conditions from mountain passes to busy border crossings.
Working with Ford, Wieden & Kennedy and Wrack Prods, Storytailors provided end-to-end local production support & logistics with local crews and services customized for the specific challenges of the four legs.
Europe ( 5,000 km ): France, Italy, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia with fixers, drivers familiar with local routes and advance permitting
South Africa ( 1,526 km ): Full production support including visas, permits, accommodation and logistics
Australia ( 3,000 km ): Hotels, transportation, permits and local logistics
South and Southeast Asia (about 7,974 km): India, Bhutan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia with local producers and permits for border crossings.
They scouted the entire project with local guides, touring the EV to test mileage and performance and mapping out the perfect route. Each leg had its own challenges, from extreme weather to finding drivers who knew the roads. Our local teams worked around the clock to keep communication flowing and solve problems on the spot.
Four continents over 200 days, on time and on budget, delivering on Ford’s goal of demonstrating the reach and resilience of electric mobility.
The secret formula ? Have the right people on the ground at every stage of the journey.
