Groove Jones Creates Vision-Powered Game for Southwest Airlines

Groove Jones partnered with The Infinite Agency to create a computer vision-powered interactive game for a Southwest Airlines Getaway Vacations campaign activation‍ ‍

The custom experience combined animated storytelling with body tracking gameplay, giving guests a playful, hands-free way to engage with Southwest’s key benefits while promoting sweepstakes entries for a Getaway vacation. The installation appeared at high-traffic locations in cities including Denver, Baltimore and Chicago.

The game guides players through a fast, intuitive experience. Guests select a traveler avatar with a simple hand raise, then lean side to side to catch falling travel icons and pack two bags, reinforcing Southwest’s “2 Bags Fly Free” policy.

Bonus icons trigger a 5x score multiplier inspired by Rapid Rewards Getaways and each 60-second round ends with a call to action to enter the sweepstakes.

To bring the experience to life, Groove Jones used a GenVFX-driven workflow to create animated destination scenes and stylized 3D game assets optimized for real-time play. These digital elements were presented inside a custom-fabricated airplane window structure featuring a 4K display, depth-sensing camera, speakers and onboard PC, blending physical design with immersive interactive media.
