Rick Knief’s THIS IS IRA RICHER Screening at the Soho Int’l + NYC Shorts Film Fests

Produced + directed by esteemed client Rick Knief, THIS IS IRA RICHER, is a visually engaging short documentary that explores the life and art of Ira Richer, a visionary artist born in Manhattan in 1947. The film captures Richer's journey from his early struggles with his vision — an adversity that honed his observational instincts — to his formative years at prestigious art institutions, Cooper Union and Yale.

There, Richer rubbed shoulders with notable figures in the art world, gaining insights that would deeply influence his work, before moving back to New York and landing in SOHO in the 1980’s. The documentary delves into how a critical early event inspired the breakthrough that shaped his foundational work. The film paints a vivid and graphically compelling portrait of his resilience and the enduring impact of his art, both on himself and on the viewers.

The film is screening Sunday Sept 22nd at the Soho International Film Festival and Saturday Sept 28th at the NYC Short Film Festival.
